Once was great... by robz

Once was great...

Still standing tall.
These are all so ominous, like some strange altering state of the world.

I think you should create a series of photos and send it to all the heads of state to give them a kick in the butt re global warming

What a lonely sight. Ah, @onewing you have me singing that now! I always loved that song!

Beautiful shot. Love the edit.

The lonely dry tree completely stands out in this shot. I am wondering if the effect would have been as marked with a non IR picture.

@granagringa LOL Granagringa - how very apt is that statement - that's exactly how it feels!!
I'm learning lots though ! Thanks for having a look. Cheers Rob

@etienne Hi Etienne - I don't think it would have as the trunk was a brownish black and tended to blend in more. The IR does seem to give a different perspective to scenery. It's most interesting. :)

@sangwann Thank you Dione. :)

@casablanca @onewing What a great song - I even vaguely recognized it - when I had it playing in front of me! Thanks for the link Babs. :)

@jgpittenger It's a good idea - but I think it needs a bigger voice - maybe lots of people uploading such photos to lots of sites!!! Or maybe the school age kids, who are being scoffed at by our Govn and told to get back to school instead of protesting, might be instrumental in finally having something serious put in place globally. After all - they will be voting in the near future! Go Kids!! It's their future being destroyed! So depressing......

@sugarmuser Actually that's so true Sharon - it reflects the atmosphere that we've had on several days over the last few weeks - dry, dusty, smokey and hazy and with a n odd colour in the sky. There's been days like that on the coast - probably at your place too?

Very poetic image and topical too

@fr1da Thanks Frida. :)

Wow Rob, this has an eerie feeling. You're right about giving this kind of problems a bigger platform, all governments use big words but don't do enough.

@jacqbb How true Jacqueline - and our Prime Minister and politicians are so dismissive and patronising to the young students who are starting to voice their worries. Hopefully when they can vote the Govn will start to listen to them! :)

A great image and I like the colours.

@rosie00 Hi Lesley - this was taken with the new (second hand new!) Infra Red camera. I had to edit it to get the greens to show up. :)
