Not a pretty sight or process... by robz

Not a pretty sight or process...

But a big relief - this boar had been caught on our wildlife camera several times. He was obviously big and grumpy - and very scary as he was in an old orchard that I walk through with Zoe. He was caught in a pig trap - he had razor sharp tusks!
That’s a big porker.

Wow!! Will he be butchered and eaten?? You've been worrying about him for a while... Now for Mrs and youngsters???

I hope he hasn’t got any friends.

So so glad he is off your land. Hope his babies are too

He is big and he could really hurt - or kill - someone if he had a mind to!
So glad you were able to dispose of him properly.
Hope his meat goes to good use (even if it is just to pet food).

Wow, that is a big one. Hopefully, there's not a large population of them out there.

I sure wouldn’t want to run across that on a walk. I’m glad you were able to get it.

Hi Jackie and Wendy - sorry to be so long answering... Believe it or not - he's been butchered and sold to a company in Germany - as food for humans....
In the past no one here would eat them as they often were hosts to worms and TB. I don't know what has changed? :)
