Wyndham was founded in 1885 and has long, colourful history - not all of which is good.
As the name suggests 5 rivers come together, at Wyndham, to flow out into the Cambridge Gulf.
This is where we boarded the Odyssey for the start of our Kimberley Cruise. The wharf that we used is shown inside the small black circle. It looks small, but it had to be large enough to cope with 8m changes from high to low tide. It took all day to clear the muddy Gulf and finally see beautiful, clear blue seas.
@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn - you will love it! We have the most amazing time - so much to do, see, learn and admire. We went from Wyndham to Broome but a lot of the cruises leave Darwin. Which boat are you cruising on? :)
@ankers70 Hi Suzanne - we went on Odyssey. It's a smaller boat with just 18 passengers. We're back now and moving on - but it was an unforgettable 14 days. :)
