A native Bluebell... by robz

A native Bluebell...

Such a simple little flower - but so hard to photograph! I've tried to catch it about 20 times - never any detail or the correct colour - until this one..... :)
And with the bonus of a little photo bomber who's trying to hide in it. Beautifully delicate and lovely.

A fav flower of mine from growing up in the countryside in the uk is bell bells - the fragrance is extraordinarily beautiful.
Do these bluebells have a fragrance I wonder…. Love this clever capture

@beverley365 Hi Beverley - You ask a very interesting question. These guys are very tiny and usually a bit solitary - not too many in any one area. I have never noticed a fragrance, but then I've never thought to consider that it might have one!! Have to kepp it in mind for next time. Cheers Rob

@kvphoto Hi KV. These are quite small. A tall one may have a stalk about 30cm tall, but many are much, much smaller...They are really appealing.. :)

Oh yes, there are flowers that are always good to capture and those that hide their beauty from the camera. You did very well. I like its delicate shade and repetition in the background.

@sangwann Hi Dione - thanks so much for your kind comment. And, I had also always thought that blue flowers were unusual. But, after living up here for 10 years it seems that blue, or purple, is the most common colour in this region! Maybe it's something to do with the colder winter weather? Cheers Rob

Many a photographer has stories of a particular subject that they have strived to get the "ultimate" photograph of and they all offer the same advice.
"Persistence prevails when all else fails."

You have even captured a tiny bug. Very cool.
