All in working order..

A young fellow at the show had a very small collection of his working vintage engines etc on display - and all chugging away with their assorted engine types hard it work. He was so interesting to talk to - owns 180 different vitage engines etc. This was a HiKey image using spot metering to show the motion of the fly wheel. .
I really like this high key image and that you caught the wheel in motion. Your B&W is nice and airy!

I like the blur of the wheel in motion. Great subject for a B/W edit.

I remember going to a small town community day once and there was a fellow who had old engines running on his front lawn. I got such a kick out of all the chugging and puffing they put out. Well done on the high key shot!

@jenp Thanks Jennifer - I really appreciate your feedback as Hi Key is something I don't often try. :)

@lyndemc Thanks so much Denise - the b&w let you see the working parts - the colours were beautiful but too distracting. I can see now why some people use b&w so often. Cheers Rob

@golftragic Hi Marnie - thanks for your feedback - I appreciated it because I've been trying to make the ISO settings work without producing a whole lot of noise. So it sounds like this was OK!! Thanks again. :)

@olivetreeann Thanks Ann - if you hadn't had the FlashofRed challenge running I would never have thought of using this in b&w - and I actually like it better in b&w! You would have loved these machines - they were all so beautifully restored! :)

@jgpittenger Hi Jane - thanks for the feedback - I've been really trying to come to grips with using the ISO setting properly (to reduce noise). Many thanks :)

@casablanca Thanks Casablanca - those pesky ISO settings are becoming more obedient! :)

@jacqbb Hi Jacqueline - I'm glad you liked this. My little camera only has 3 light metering settings - overall average, centre based or spot metering which bases its light calculations on the small section that I have focused on. It lets me do interesting things with comparative brightness in different sections. I'm sure that real cameras have a much more sophisticated systems and don't have just these three settings. Thanks again for your comment! :)

@robz IMO this one is definitely more than OK.
