2.59...

... million deaths world-wide from COVID-19, as of today, which marks one year (here) since the pandemic began its march.

At the time, I had no idea that there would be such losses in our future.

These hand-made roses are here in St. Louis, commemorating a "Marked by COVID" memorial, which is part of a larger "Rose River Memorial."

Take care and thanks for visiting my very half-hearted project. I have been a bit short of inspiration this year.
I had no idea that roses were being used to commemorate the COVID anniversary. Lovely idea.

It isn't just the people that have died but also the people who have suffered long periods of recoveries with reoccuring symptons. The people who will carry guilt for not being there when their loved one passed. The children whose academic progress has been interrupted in a way that will affect them forever.

Too many deaths. It's a beautiful tribute but a careful reminder it didn't need to be this way. I sure hope people put their best efforts forward so we won't have to continue tributes. :(
