I went for a walk over to Dovecote Lake and was lucky enough to get a shot of this swan as he flew over. Previously, I had walked along the brook and I had the great pleasure of seeing a kingfisher (only the second time I've seen one in my life!). I was so excited but I didn't get a picture of him. He was just so beautiful with his lovely blue wings and orange body. Maybe next time, I will stop gawping and keep shooting!
Fantastic and lovely to see a kingfisher too. I've been googling decapitated pigeons (and indeed piles of feathers left all over the road verges) and it seems it might be sparrowhawks.
@rennes Thanks The kingfisher took my breath away which is why I couldn;t get a shot of him. I thought I would rather watch him than miss him trying to focus the camera @joanf@jo13 Thank you. I'm so pleased I invested in this camera as I wouldn't have got a shot like this with my bridge camera because it was too slow to focus
