I went for a long long walk this morning as I knew that it might rain this afternoon and it has just started spotting. I have walked nearly 5 miles all around Dovecote Lake, through Bulge Wood and also through Matchstick Wood which is a restricted area but I'm not sure who it is restricted for so I took a chance. I didn't see anyone but I did turn back and go through the main part of the wood as I didn't want to come up against someone I might not want to meet.
The duck family were swimming in the River Great Ouse which runs alongside the cycle track and it was such a lovely peaceful morning with the sun shining and the birds singing. It's like music to your soul.
The clouds have now come over and we have been promised thunder storms and heavy rain and I know the garden needs it but it's such a shame if the day ends that way.
