A bit of snow is welcome when it encourages these little birds nearer the house
The starlings were hogging the suet balls over the other side of the garden so the little long tailed tits decided it was worth risking it by coming to the nuts hanging from the washing line just outside the kitchen window. I was pleased that they did and at one time there were 3 of them on the nuts at once but I liked this shot best. They are such sweet little birds.
It is very cold here today and we have seen snow flurries off and on this morning so I expect they need to eat plenty of food to keep themselves warm. I am getting through a lot of seed, nuts, etc. but it is worth it just to see the lovely birds that visit.
It would have been my Mum's birthday today so this one is for her. It was when she was dying that I started 365 as another carer told me about it and it really kept me going through some difficult days.
