This is a late post from yesterday. I had been trying to sort out a portable hard drive that won't be recognised by my laptop so I scanned it with Wondershare which took hours and revealed over 300,000 files! However, I couldn't save the search as it said that it was the same volumn and I haven't a clue what that means so it was a complete waste of time. I also thought I would try to resurrect one of my old laptops and left that repairing itself for about 7 hours and gave up with that so it wasn't very productive at all. I think I shall have to bite the bullet and take it down to someone who repairs laptops in the village. I'm not sure how much he would charge but it's pointless keeping things that don't work and you never know what I might find on them. I also seem to have lost one of my portable hard drives with all my photos on it. It was stored in one of the drawers under my bed but I emptied the drawers because I was having new double glazed windows installed and the fitters had to move the bed which was so heavy, I couldn't move it. I shall have to keep searching but I'm glad someone encouraged me to back up on 2 hard drives as the other one is completely instact.

Wow sorry to here that, we have all been there at one time, I back everything up on two drives now, one an additional hard drive fitted on my desktop computer and a stand alone usb3 hard drive, hope you soon get yours sorted Rosie:)
