This is from a couple of weeks ago as I have been down the brook this morning and have had no luck with the kingfishers at all. I was about to leave after standing behind a tree for 2 hours when one flew out of the nest but then it didn't appear again so after half an hour, I decided to call it a day.
I was so frustrated to see Hide man's hide in the place where I used to sit but no sign of him yet again, so I thought I would call in and talk to Robin about it. I thought I would say that I found it frustrating and suggest that Hide Man probably hasn't got his licence yet which is why he's not there. I thought this might make him realise that I DO have a licence and it might be better if I was sitting there rather than wasting the opportunity. However, he wasn't there but I spoke to his wife who said that she didn't know anything and I think I believed her. She said that Robin might contact me but I am not holding my breath. Grrrrrrrrrrr
I was going to post a video from the camera nest box where the little blue tit is sitting on 3 or 4 eggs but I couldn't work out where to put the You Tube address link so I gave up on that too.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
Nice shot Rosie, did your judge like your images better this time ?
Or at least make more interesting comments on them.
If Mr Hide man, has got the best spot and isn't there what's to stop you sitting / standing behind / along side or in front of the hide. That's where I would be in a situation like that. Obviously being willing to move if he gets himself out of bed !!!
@markp The judge gave good comments on my lasting images which was much better. I can’t really set up in front of the hide because the ranger has stipulated that I can’t be on that side of the brook. I actually called round to his house this morning but he wasn’t in but after speaking to his wife he sent me a text to say that Hide man wasn’t there because the kingfishers are sitting on eggs so there’s nothing to see. However I disagree as they have to feed and both birds don’t sit on the eggs together
