No need to crop

This robin was about 20ft away and taken through the kitchen window and I've not cropped it at all. I'm not very good at distances so it may have been about 30ft but isn't it great to get a shot of a robin that looks so close! I'm really pleased with Big Bertha but it does take a bit of getting used to as she's so heavy!!! It is easy to waver about when trying to focus on a bird's eye and then get an out of focus shot but I'm sure I shall get used to the weight. I remember thinking my 300mm lens was heavy when I first used it but I soon got used to that.

I have been looking at photographic holidays in Costa Rica as there are so many beautiful birds there and if I can find someone who will come with me, I would love to visit there at the end of March/April 2015. Anyone fancy it? It's not cheap but it would be a holiday of a lifetime and it's for 8 nights!
Wow, the detail is amazing, what a fantastic lens. I must say I am jealous. At least you can drop in on AnaZad @anazad511 our local Costa Rican 365er. It does sound like a beautiful place to visit.
