My get pushed challenge from Milla @mizzm - 'here is my challenge to you... To take a portrait that tells a story about that person. have fun :)'
I really do not like doing people photos of any kind. Godwin and Richie are the two grooms where I go horse riding. Richie has only been working with the horses for about a months but he is quickly learning all their individual personalities. He also always seems to be smiling.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
He looks so happy...either for doing his work or for being photographed! You have chosen a difficult subject for a portrait...he is so dark-skinned, it is really difficult to get clear detail. You may find that B&W brings out more detail of their faces...
I loved your other shot, so tried to compare exif without much success. However, here it looks as if your focus is on the branches, rather than on the groom's face. Maybe that was your intention?
some people are just a natural especially in dealing with animals. this one seems a lively chap. the details look great in black. have you tried it in black and white?
Good job on the challenge Sally! Being asked to do a portrait is one of the reasons I don't do the Get Pushed Challege! Other than a few close people I really don't feel comfortable doing them. But you've picked a good subject here.
