This plant is from the daisy family and is indegenious and originated from the Maltese Islands. It is very common in the wild, has remarkable ornamental foliage and grows from 2 to 3 feet high. Its spiny divided foliage is prettily blotched with white, nearly smooth on the upper side but very cottonly and white on the underside. The stems and branches are terminated by solitary flower heads which appear during spring.
