These three personages led the procession. The three of them carry symbols representing the status of the Senglea Parish Church as a Basilica. The one on the right is the mace bearer, the middle one carries the canopy with the colours of Senglea and Grand Master La Sengle who was the founder of the city and the third carries a sort of bell which I don’t know what it symnbolises except that it has the pope’s crown on top and keys, perhaps symbolising that the church is the key to heaven.
carole albrecht I have had to abandon work on the desk for some days because of other more pressing things to do and also because I am spending a lot of time watching soccer on TV.
Thank you all so very much for looking and for your comments on yesterday’s picture
Beautiful shots and collage of the procession. Interesting information to
We have processions ( very historical ones . For example ; the miracle or silent tour in Amsterdam ) in our country , but only in the southern part.
The pageantry is very interesting and you are very knowledgeable! Is it a silent procession or is there some music involved? You've put together a nice layout here.
