The Sliema-St Julians seafront promenade. I spend most of my outdoor life in this area. In Summer I come to swim here every morning and I meet friends here in the evening and stay out late talking and chatting. In Winter I take my exercise here with an hour’s power walk and then stop for a coffee at a small shop in St Julians. I am so much in love with this place.
Between 8.30pm and 11.00ish Malta stood still. Almost all Maltese were stuck to tv screens at home or in bars - which erected big screens for the occasion - to watch Italy vs England. Ian and I joined Jp to watch the match together. The match lasted its full 1 hour and 30 minutes and after an extra 30 minutes, the score was still 0 - 0. Italy dominated the match but England defended well. The match was finally decided by the shooting of penalties and Italy got through and I say it was a merited win.
Thank you so much for following me and for your very beautiful comments on my pictures.
Beautifull shot Dione it beats my night shot of St julians Bay in my album mixed bag dated 20th March 2011 titled St Julians Bay, taken from our hotel balcony in the Cavalieri hotel just behind the new appartments with the big exspensive marina. We walked from the hotel right round to Sliema to get thr ferry over to Valletta, then walked back that evening. I do know why you like that area so much it is safe to walk around at night and the natives are friendly.
@hobgoblinwychwo Thanks for your comments, John. You must have had a fantastic panorama view of the bay from the Cavallieri. Every now and my friends and I swim all the way from the opposite side to the Cavallieri. Hope your holiday here was to your liking.
