One of the things I wanted to do during that evening was to go and see the museum of St John’s Co-cathedral - co is because the cathedral where the archbishop of Malta has his seat is at St Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina.
This is a view of St John’s façade through Zachary Street. The co-cathedral was commissioned in 1572 by Grand Master Jean de la Cassière as the conventual church of the Order of the Knights Hospitaller of St John and designed by the celebrated Maltese military architect Gerolamo Cassar. St John’s Co-Cathedral stands as a unique monument of international importance. As you can see the façade is very plain but wait until I show you the interior.
Thank you so much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
Love this shot! I like how you used the selective coloring and the composition. It truly is an excellent shot and really brings out the history and character you spoke about in your commentary. It reminds me of some of my old postcards from Europe.
