Last Sunday the sea was choppy and Christine and I decided to give swimming a miss. So I met my elder brother, Joe, and went for a walk along the Sliema waterfront and for a coffee. Naturally, my camera was with me too for any opportunity which might crop up.
Next Sunday it will be the turn of Stella Maris (Our Lady Star of the Sea) parish to celebrate its annual festa. This is the balcony of the Stella Maris Band Club decked out for the occasion.
Stella Maris is the parish of the locality where I was brought up. My dad was so in love with it, even during the period when he lived in the confines of another parish. Up to the eve of his death at 96 years he was in church going round with the collection basket during mass. We were so close to each other; after 2 years I still miss him.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
Wonderful capture of this beautiful balcony. Stella Maris celebration must be big in Malta. How nice that you remember your father so vividly, and you were lucky that he lived so long.
