Our first stop for the day was Citta’ Sant’Angelo, a small town situated on top of a hill and surrounded by beautiful agricultural/rural land. Its position on top of the hill arises from the fact that it knows its origin to the medieval period when people considered such a location the best place to defend against marauding groups.
In the middle of this collage is the main street of the town. Note the street lamps covered with red cloth – this is for the Catholic Church’s outdoor functions connected to Holy Week. Remember that the shot was taken on 17 April which was Maundy Thursday.
Flanking the shot are two narrow street leads out from the main street. I like to peek into these narrow streets which I think are quite quaint.
We had a lovely day out yesterday with my two children, their spouses and children. Had a great meal in one of the best hotels together.
Thank you so much for looking, for your lovely comments and the fav’s on yesterday’s picture and to your best wishes for my birthday.
Nice triptych, Dione. the town looks very interesting. I like the leading lines of the streets in the shots, they really take the eye through them and make me want to go see for myself.
