Saw this guy about to jump into the sea and was ready to capture him from around 70 metres away. This man swims everyday throughout the year, except when the sea is too, rough. This time he came to this side of Sliema because where he usually goes was a bit choppy. A friend of mine told me he is around 80 years old and is nicknamed ‘The Steak’ (don’t know why). He used to play football for one of Malta’s First Division teams.
Joke: An American, an English, a French an Italian and a Maltese oil-rig workers were on holiday in Gozo. They decided to charter a yacht for a cruise around the Mediterranean. On the way to Sicily, and in choppy waters, the yacht hit a reef and started making water. After futile attempts to pump the gushing water out of the yacht the captain said: “It’s useless, guys, we’re sinking and we have to make the yacht lighter. Who will volunteer to jump off the boat?”
The Englishman was the first to volunteer and crying out loud: “God save the queen!” , jumped into the turbulent water.
But the yacht continued to sink and the same request was repeated by the captain. Not to be outdone, the American shouted “God bless America” and jumped in, too.
Still the yacht continued to sink deeper and another person had to leave the boat. The Frenchman got up, shouted: “Vive la France” and was in the water like the others.
But that wasn’t enough and the captain again requested one of the passengers to jump off the yacht. So the Maltese man and the Italian looked at each other questioningly. After a short pause the Maltese man got up, walked to the Italian and shouted: “Viva Malta” ………… and threw the Italian overboard.
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
000hh! Is there a difficulty between Malta and Italy! Great joke - it could be the Irish or the Australian depending on where you came from!
I can see this guy holding his nose while he jumps! Odd!
