Second collage of shots I took on the eve of Festa Santa Maria, the patron saint of Mosta – and of several other parishes in Malta. If you look closely at the lights on the church dome you will notice they are slightly blurred and that is due to my tripod which is not very steady in windy conditions especially when the zoom is fully expanded.
Yesterday, with my brother, Joe, sister Mary Grace and their spouses we went to Ix-Xatt (pron. Ish shut) meaning ‘the shore’ or as it is known by foreigners ‘The Ferries’ to watch another wonderful display of fireworks on the eve of the feast of Stella Maris (Star of the Sea). Will have time to comment further in due course.
Joke: Joey lived alone in with only a pet dog for company. One day the dog died, and Joey went to the parish priest and asked, 'Father, my dog is dead. Could you say a mass for the poor creature?'
Father George replied, 'I'm afraid not; we cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there is a Baptist community down the lane, and there's no telling what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature.'
Joey said, 'I'll go right away Father. Do you think 5,000 Euros is enough to donate to them for the service?'
Father George exclaimed, 'Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't you tell me the dog was Catholic?
Thank you very much for the wonderful comments and the fav's. Very much appreciated.
