This man is doing a summersault into the cooling waters around Malta. I think he is an amazing person. I watched him do this some months ago and wanted to bite myself as I had no camera to take a shot. This time I saw him approach the water’s edge and I had a feeling that he would be doing it again. So I pointed my Panasonic at him and waited for the right time to capture his jump.
Why ‘Steak’? A friend of mine had told me that the man’s is nicknamed ‘Steak’ – don’t know why – and that he used to play football for one of the local first division teams. The stunning thing about him is that he is around 75-78 years old.
Joke: This tough guy went to the swimming pool. After a few show-off dives he was about to dive in again, when the lifeguard shouted, "You can't dive, mate."
"Sorry" the flabbergasted guy replied, his face red with anger and shame, "I didn't realise that it wasn't allowed."
The lifeguard answered, "It is allowed in fact, I'm just saying that you're very aweful at it."
The first time I looked at it, it seemed like the man hit his head and was standing upside down on the rock. Then after looking and reading I saw how the shot really was. Sometimes your perspective is different, very cool!
This is terrific on the black - how nice that you were there to catch him this time - amazing the things you can do if you really want to. Good timing on your shot.
It looks shallow and rocky there....hope that is a pretty deep pool. What a great shot and so glad you had your camera this time. Great timing on this shot.
