One last shot from last Friday’s storm. I left this for the end of the series as I think it is the most dramatic. For a reason I cannot explain even to myself, I decided to post this in b&w.
Portomaso got a big blow from the rough sea, too. Portomaso is a high-class residential area complete with its own yacht marina sheltered by its own breakwater. The boats that had not been taken to safety suffered from the rage of the water. Here you can see the waves crushing over the breakwater and even covering the lamp post at the entrance of the marina.
By the next day, the force of the wind had subsided and although the sea remained rough it was already a bit calmer. The process of cleaning up, especially the beaches is still on going.
Many thanks for viewing and for your comment and fav's on yesterday's picture.
Oh my! What force and power the water can have when whipped up by a storm. You've captured that in your series of photos (which I've just looked through with great awe and amazement.) Hearing that there was destruction to buildings and boats is sad though.
That was quite the storm- every wave has looked powerful and furious. You've posted some amazing pictures but glad to know the storm has subsided and life is getting back to normal. great shot!
