Still from my weekend in Gozo.
After staying some time watching the swans we went for a walk along a coast road which leads from Xwejni Bay to Wied il-Ghasri. The area is not good for swimming for the rough rocks and the open sea. The rocks have been put to good use since time immemorial for making natural salt from sea water. The middle guy in this shot is the person who runs these salt pans (I came to know that later). I think he was explaining to the other two people how the process works.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs. Always much appreciated.
I have a vague recollection that I may have heard of the likes of this, but it's so interesting to see it as you've pictured it! I love this site because there's so much we can learn from one another, and it personalizes it!
The history of our area start by the developing of a salt industrie by burning the salt peat.
