Damsel, Dragon, what?

I can never distinguish which ones are damsel and which are dragon. It was very difficult to capture this one. It landed on a narrow branch and was surrounded by all sorts of other plants, weeds and twigs.

I'd take a guess at dragonfly because their wings are open when at rest where as damselflies fold their wings in.
Also I believe that dragonflies have broader hind wings, but I could be wrong.
