On Saturday evenings we normally meet my elder brother and my sister with their spouses, go to ‘Sunday’ mass and go to a restaurant or a snack bar where we could chat while having a bite. Last Saturday, the others had more important things on their mind and Christine and I decided to go to l-Isla, hear mass there and then to one of our favourite restaurants along the L-Isla waterfront.
At church there was this chandelier packed in plastic which reached almost to the floor hanging from the dome. Amazing how big it looked compared to when it is hanging at its normal elevation. When the ceremony was finished and everybody had left I asked Christine to stand up close to it so I could take a picture of the chandelier with my mob and her presence would give an indication of the size of the chandelier. And here is my shot, not the best I could take but sufficient enough to show the size of the chandelier.
Why it was down there I cannot tell. Could be it was lowered down to clean it or to unpack for a special occasion.
Thank you so much for all your looks, your comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
It would hardly be a Sunday mass on a Saturday? My guess is they are taking this chandelier down to clean it. Surround it with material and it will be some sort of protection! A very religious sort of phot here!
