A break from our Athens holday series to show some shots from Malta.
These shots were taken on Maundy Thursday,or the day previous to that, when Max was staying with us as he was on his Easter holidays and his parents were at work. On the day I decided to take him to see the Naxxar Church dressed in mourning for Good Friday and a set of statues adorning the church and ready to be carried out around Naxxar as part of the Good Friday procession. We crossed the road in front of a church bazaar which is at the back of the church and a sign said that what was a bazaar had been turned as the church museum. I looked at Max, “shall we go in?” I said. “Yes” was the immediate reply and in we went. Entrance was free and the first thing we saw was this statue of Judith with Holofernes’ head from the old Testament.
Then a very very nice gentleman came to us and offered to take us on a tour of the museum . He was one of the volunteers who really had his heart in the project. He was happy to explain to Max everything that we saw. As we went round this small museum I took several shots but chose only these three to show. When we came out of the museum it was too late to go and see the church.
Thank you very much for al your looks, for your comments and for your fav's on yesterday's picture.
