So far so good!
Chaffinch chick is still around though I'm a bit worried about the strength of his wings!

This morning as I went to put some rubbish in the dustbin I spotted him sheltering by the garage door. He hopped /scuttled round the side of the house and I called to Allan to come and see him.
When we got back from church Allan spotted him in the back garden.......just moved off the patio border into the grass! We watched him for ages, and daddy chaffinch was not far away - singing to distract us again ............and after some time he made it to the shelter of the big flowerbed.
We had chased away some large crows!! Hope they don't find him. Still has a bit of growing to do and wing practice before he can go it alone!

PS Allan took this close up photo with his all singing/dancing camera! Mine wouldn't get nearly as close and detailed as this!!! But I did the framing etc!!!
A lovely shot and a nice background story.

@if1 Thanks - must go back and add that Allan took this photo with his camera which is much more sophisticated than mine!!!

It looks like he may have fled the nest a bit prematurely. Hopefully he survives the wild

It least he can get dew from the grass and dad is sticking with him. Looks like all teenagers do daft things and have to be rescued by their dads!

This sweet baby!!! I love how the grass shelters him. Stay with us on the story and tell Allan he took a FABULOUS shot.

Nice capture of this little baby. I hope it soon has the strength in it's wings to become airborne.

@louisefrance yes......but haven't seen him today so not sure how he's doing! And I chased a big fat neighbour's cat yesterday. .....no I mean the big fat cat of a neighbour!!!!! Not sure which home he belongs to but wish he'd not invade our space at the moment!
