go compare

Judith was asking if I use 'ipiccy' for collages - yes I do. I had never used 'picnik' for collages.
I simply used 'create' in picassa 3 and selected 'collage'....
So this morning had a wee play and compared the two. Sometimes I think I would still use Picassa if I have a specific layout in my head but the efficient way of creating a collage in ipiccy by just drag and drop is SO quick and there is the option of shuffle/move till you find what you're happy with.
Just nice to share!
Thanks for query Judith - I had meant to do this ages ago!
Thank you for sharing that, Sarah. I too have always used Picasa for collages because it lets me do exactly what I want to to, unlike Picnik which insisted on fitting the pictures to a predetermined layout. I have not yet looked at collages in iPiccy, but I do use their mirror frame, which I also liked in Picnik, so I am now well satisfied with the range of tools available.

Good title Sallie !!! Also a very interesting comparison, I haven't tried a collage yet but I think your ipiccy looks the best !

Thanks for that Sarah. I have used ipiccy with some success but yesterday wanted to make a collage with just two pictures and there were very few options. Also I wan't able to change the colour of the framing between the pictures or choose my own layout. (I'd like to be able to leave more space between the pictures rather than use a pre-set layout.) I will give Picassa 3 a try.

I like the look sof it. Up until this point I have always used Picasa for my collages. The only thing I do not like about Picasa is, everytime you open it it uploads all the photos since the last session. I may need to look at ipiccy closer.

Thanks for your comments - I'd encourage anyone to have a go at this as ipiccy lets you share lots of photos very easily! Enjoy!

I used to use Picassa but now I prefer iPiccy too. I like the fact that it doesn't upload everything, only what you choose, so it's far easier to find the photos you want. I like the layouts better too and it's so quick to make a collage! Thanks for the two collages so we can compare, good idea!

A fascinating set of comments - I confess to never having produced a collage, but these posts and your collages are making me think that I should have a go!

Well they both look great but I like the iPiccy one just a tad more. I always like less color between the pictures because in my way of seeing, I see more picture that way. And I love using the mirror frame on a collage now (something I learned from one of your collages!).
