It's the end of another season at this lovely garden which we've visited regularly for 30 years. No more lovely walks inside the walled garden till May 2017! But still wild natural spaces to have a stroll and Allan is still working there three days a week for a couple of months as nothing in his own line coming up yet!
I put the camera sitting on a bench and didn't expect him to be in the photo! But I like it! He's never far away and makes the world of difference to my life!
And we spent time working really hard in the garden. Cleared a large circle which has been too overgrown for too long. Recently we agreed the best solution was to kill off everything around the base of a weeping beech tree so now all the dead stuff is cleared and fresh layer of compost (from grass cuttings a lot of years ago) has been put down with bark chippings on top. Here's hoping the weeds keep well away for a while. There are still lots of bulbs underground and I've planted some more!!!
Three good things
1. Sunshine and gardening
2. Left overs for tea
3. A lovely soak in the bath
