Little treasures

Had such a special day! Spent the morning in the garden and then met up with 4 friends from school. Some I've seen from time to time and others I have only seen 4 or 5 times in a lot of years.
What howls of laughter at times as we recalled a range of experiences and episodes. Some were rather sad when children were certainly not treated in the way they are today, and rather harsh 'punishments' for very insignificant misdemeanours!
But thankfully we survived without war wounds and being children of the 60s and 70s there were some interesting things to remember too.
We had some little gifts too......a fun little bath bomb with label to share contact details and a fridge magnet with Janet and John (from our first reading books!)......I love it!
Three good things
1. Good progress in the garden
2. Delicious lunch and great company
3. Unique personal memories. ...even though we had lots of shared experiences it was quite striking that memories were not shared and some things were vivid to one /two but complete blanks to others 😁

Sounds like a perfect day. It's so nice meeting up with old friends.

@kjarn Hee hee! LOOK Janet, Look!
Rather tedious I think in comparison with some of the fun books in use now, but nice memories none the less. I wonder if try are still around?

My grandchildren are reading very different books at school these days but earlier in the year their school held its 50th anniversary and there was Janet and John in the memorabillia section of the presentation. I so wish I had taken a photo!
