mackerel by shannejw

mackerel

Whitechapel market has these amazing trays of fresh fish - and I was around there again on Monday. This is for the B&W Bookclub, looking at tone and form - there was also a tray of sardines that I liked, but I think this has the better tonal range. Both shots showed a good range across the histograms and a minimum of clipping (yes, I read the book) without any adjustments. Week 3 http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/21068/bw-book-club-week-3-feb-10-16

Thank you for your wonderful responses to Tower Bridge, for looking and commenting. You're all superstars.

Good job catching the tones in a B&W. I've never had mackerel, but assume it is good!

The lines on the fish makes this look great in b/w

Even in B&W, those fish look pretty tasty.

Oooh, I almost missed the fish! This is beautiful! (I think I'm a texture junkie). Great in b/w - but I guess there isn't much color anyways?
February 16th, 2014
This is a great b and w! Who would think dead fish would be so attractive! Fav
February 16th, 2014
@irisn blues and greens in the patterns - and quite a surprising amount of red - which they look better without
