Because I've got a story in mind for this mannequin across the week, this is the next episode. He's being used for this week's Flash of Red February challenge - which is focusing on a single subject and looking at the use of shape and space, so lots of negative space.
I've also tagged this for the six word story and the Song Title Challenge - I'm sparing you the Celine Dion version - this is Eric Carmel singing "All by myself" because failed love stories are so easy to find songs for.
Three good things will come later, as I'm doing this early
Three good things:
1. Guides was fun - mad session with a sponsored silence
2. My voice held out for Guides - sponsored silences help - which when I have a stinking cold was good.
3. Half term next week, which means we have a week off.
Thank you for looking and your lovely comments and any favs. You're all superstars. I try to look at your pictures rather than thank you individually below.
you are rather good with the handling - posing, lighting -- of this little guy that should be named pretty soon. (i may have to refer to him as Heathcliff until you come up with something.) the sadness really comes across. aces!
oh, Heathcliff, we must find you your Catherine! :-)
I love the use of the corner and the texture of the flooring as well as the shadows of his (or her?) head on the wall. It definitely tells a story. You have a good thought process and creativity when it comes to posing this figure and making a connection. I am looking forward to what you have planned!
@jenp thank you Jennifer - the background is paper - an A2 pad for the back and the wall and a map that's stored in that pad to try and keep it flat for the floor but it's providing a texture that looks like floorboards, helpfully. Daylight.
This is really a great one! Lighting frames beautifully your subject and emphasises the loneliness. Also good luck for that stick person. I'm sure it'll be alright someday 😊
I remember when that song came out (sad to say I do!!) and thinking, "This is one of the most depressing songs I've ever heard!" But you have illustrated it so poignantly.
This series of images captured emotion so well and told such a great story that it was hard to pick just one. As Anne says, this image illustrates the song title so well. Congratulations on making the shortlist for the song title challenge :)
Good luck!

Great positioning again to match another great title
Good luck!
