This is a filler from a few days ago, it was grey, dull, cold and miserable today and my daughter wasn't feeling brilliant so I didn't get out to my planned recording or to take some of the other photos I would like to try. I could hear this thrush singing and was lucky enough to see it on a fairly bare tree to photograph it from a distance.
Three good things:
1. most of the nasty scary brown envelopes were fine;
2. salmon and watercress quiche tasted fine cold with salad and the pastry has a nice crisp texture - no soggy bottom - which is great for gluten-free;
3. we have a plan to go out on Saturday
Thank you for looking and your amazing support and favs. I prefer to look at your pictures rather than thanking you individually below.
From its position t does look to be getting into full throated song.
I hate those brown envelopes too. Official notices always carry the threat of being bad news.
Thrushes have some of the most beautiful songs! I love it when we have Wood Thrushes passing through here. I'm not sure what the "brown envelopes" are but I'm glad they weren't what you expected. It has been rainy and damp here today and I've had a lot of joint pain thanks to it, so my heart goes out to your daughter!
I have never seen this bird, except here. Lovely shot and framing. I must have missed something somewhere along the line Shanne, as I do not know about the health issues of your daughter. Hope it is nothing serious ;-)
@ludwigsdiana thank you Diana, my daughter came home because she wasn't well, and it's being a bit slow to stabilise her health, so I've ended up caring for her
