That awkward moment when you have to decide whether or not your lunch companion is aware that she has a feather stuck to her beak.
What better way to make my return than Flamingo Friday? Sorry for the extended absence, gang. Between this COVID mess and a little surgical procedure that I underwent a month ago, getting some good shots has not been on my list of priorities - or abilities for that matter. I think I'm sufficiently recovered at this point, but being able to get out and grab some shots is proving to be somewhat of a challenge given that our dear California dictator has decided that we are best served remaining inside our abodes, probably never to venture outside again. Given that, I'll likely be combing through many old shots, hopefully coming across a gem here or there.
Welcome back Ron, what a great shot for your return. I suppose this must be the flamingo equivalent of whether or not to tell your friend that she has lipstick on her teeth.
My Friday just took an upturn with you back in the fold! Hysterical of course!!! Years ago Ann Landers gave the answer as to whether or not to say anything... IF, in the moment, the person can do something about it, you tell them. I also recall she added that if your friend "has a run in her stocking", say nothing, because she can't attend to it. And THAT's how old that message was... No one wears stocking anymore and Ann Landers is dead...
What a super shot to return with. They are quite comical. I hope that you have a speedy and trouble-free recovery.
We have been in hard lockdown since 26th March - only allowed out for groceries, pharmacy or medical reason. No sale of non essential items, no alcohol or cigarettes. As from 1st May, we are allowed to exercise between 6am and 9am and can take our dogs with us. We can also buy winter related goods - clothes, blankets and heaters. Still no garden centers open and hardware stores can only sell goods for repairs and then only to plumbers, electricians etc.
Could this be anyone else, so nice to see your work again old friend, what a beautiful image full of colour, fine detail and a shallow depth of field, hope you are well on the mend now and coping well in these trying times Ron stay safe, Fav:)
So wonderful to see you back and with a FAvtastic Flamingo Foto :) Hope you are well and truly on the mend and coping with these world wide restrictions.
@Weezilou Well, I, of course, never passed up the chance to point out a run in the stockings. I took pains to be subtle, though, often discreetly dangling a small bottle of nail polish between my fingers. Thanks for the lesson in etiquette - and for the fun feedback!
@salza Thanks Sally. Wow, sounds like you guys might have even more restrictions than those of us in the prison that is California! Hope things loosen up for you soon there!
@pamknowler Hey there, Pam. Thanks for the nice words. Yes, I'm getting better day by day. Now if I could only leave the house without worrying about getting arrested! Hope you're well.
@pcoulson How ya been Peter? Thanks so much for your nice words. I appreciate the well wishes and I'm getting back to full song on a daily basis. Looking forward to seeing your excellent contributions, and I hope you're staying safe too.
@stray_shooter I’m fine. Con-fine-d at home until tomorrow, it seems. How are you? I didn’t read the second part of the commentary, sorry for that. Is all well with you? I had to laugh about your dear dictator... We all have our personal Kim these days!
Really cute capture! Hope you are feeling better. Wish I could come down and visit you and Louise. Maybe I'll do a drive by. lol But no, just wishful thinking. I get paranoid enough just going to the grocery store.
Hope you are well on the road to recovery now.
And those eyes!! Haha, wow. Awesome shot!! Love the personality you always give them.
