I picked up a new Sony A6500 mainly for purposes of pulling off my street photography with a little more stealth and quality (in hopes that people will be allowed out in public again eventually). The camera has a very good and quick ability to focus, so I put it to work on what to me was a barely visible spider web. Based on this result I think I'll be able to get some good street shots.
Wow -- yes, this should be a great addition to your camera collection. Great details. I find I go out looking for a lone person to put in an empty scene and that's what counts as 'street' photography these days!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie. Don't worry, they'll be back soon. I was already out grabbing some today as people have begun to emerge from their caves. Glad you noticed the prism effect.
@louannwarren Thanks, Lou Ann. Yes, those webs are tricky. When I held down the shutter button and it immediately locked onto the web I was amazed....and thrilled!
@pcoulson Thanks for pointing that out, Peter. I have this camera set up for auto iso, something I don't normally do, but if I'm going to use it for street shots I think that's what I'll be stuck with as I'm likely going to be in shutter priority. It's a whole new world!
@salza Thanks Sally. Yes, the work of spiders is fascinating to me. If I see a web I'm damn sure gonna stop and try to get a photo of it - you never know what you might find.
