i was actually shooting the large tanker in the background and he was in the way so i turned my focus on him but didn't shoot right away. when i arrived at the boardwalk he was already there, just staring at the water, oblivious of everyone and everything. the whole time i was standing on the boardwalk and taking photos of ships, sailboats, ferries, water taxis, loons, ducks and geese, planes, trains and automobiles, he never moved from where he was leaning right beside the water.
the guy must have a really big problem. or maybe he won the lottery but he can't be out with it yet. i know when i win the big jackpot i'd have a hard time finding that damn list i keep updating all the time, then i'd be worried, too!
well don't forget to put ME somewhere near the top or at least middle of that list.....lol - - seriously, though.....love this shot.....you have managed to catch a very contemplative look....even just from half a profile view. I like it.
He looks exactly like a guy I know somewhere else and his wife left him and took the children! I would like to tap him on his shoulder and give him a smile!
Really great shot! It's funny how what we think we want to take pictures of does not end up making the cut....just make sure to intercept him if you see him leaning against a bridge railing!
