lost

inspired by aaron siskind's work, the featured artist in the current artist challenge.

a dead log is partially buried in the sand in the beaches of toronto, beaten by the harsh elements over time. a solitary feather, most probably courtesy of a seagull, keeps it company. a note of interest is that they almost have the same colour: a monotone of dull gray; however the conversion to black and white gives the feather more definition and becomes more recognizable.

thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are much appreciated.
I LOVE the texture in this photo. It's a great black and white shot.

a lot of lovely visual interest in this shot - the log, sand, feather, and even the pebbles. smart choice to use b&w, in my opinion ~

Great use of black and white: it looks almost like an abstract composition, but it's true that the feather gets your attention

@olivetreeann - an aftermath of reading the Patterson book, I reckon. i normally would've ignored this. now, i examine everything and most times see the intrinsic value for a shot. thank you, ann.
