first family portrait of the year by summerfield

first family portrait of the year

here is my old friend and the missus with their new babies, all five of them. these are the swans that live in the pond by the beaches near where i live, not the swan that got featured in my may 18th post. (those eggs when we came to visit three weekends ago were gone, not a trace, but the couple was still around there and nobody could tell us what happened to them.) partner was quite happy to see these babies. irony is that we've been watching three other pairs from different parts of the city but none of them had had their babies for some reasons. maybe because they were in the much bigger park with other wildlife and bigger predators while this family is in a little pond where they were more or less protected from predators.

so now, my weekend mornings will surely be filled with "let's go visit the family!" i should be able to take a more decent photo maybe tomorrow morning, as today, there were a lot of people feeding them.
Absolutely beautify capture of the first family portrait. Love it.

I expect the swans are almost helpless if a predator takes these sweet little babies! Nice to see them now, hope to see them in 2 weeks time!

Nicely captured! I thought of you while we were away because there was a swan family in the salt marsh and I took a couple shots of them. They too, seem to thrive and I think it's because they are protected from the usual predators. Good shot!
