pastry crimper by summerfield

pastry crimper

when i first learned to bake pies, i used this thingamajigg a lot. it seals the crust of double crust pies and also trims the resulting extra dough without much mess. of course when i didn't have this yet, the thumb or a fork made a different design in the pie dough's edges.

still suffering from severe headache and dizziness; i can't seem to look at the screen for more than a few seconds. this posting and the other one today took a loooooong time to get posted.

hope you all are having a nice day/weekend. it's a beautiful day outside and i wanted to wander about but i won't dare venture away from my apartment.
Fabulous close up focus! I don't believe I have ever used one of these, usually just use a fork or a grubby finger!
I surely hope that you are feeling better soon and that the dizziness and headaches abate.

Oh, dear. I do hope you are feeling better soon. This is an excellent image. I've never heard of a pastry crimper. Superb focus and lovely shallow dof.

Well that answered my previous post! pole (Swahili for SORRY!) I hate you are still feeling ill! Vertigo is the worst too because it affects everything you try to do! in spite of it all you keep posting fabulous shots! Mayb the thumb of fork are in order for another kitchen thingy!

love how all your stuff has a story. mine all came from goodwill for $1 or less!

sorry to hear you have not felt well. sounds a bit vertigoish! super shot!

gosh, this has been going on for more than a day. Not good. Hope you get better before you have to endure the clutches of the medical establishment.

I think the medical establishment is the best option when it comes to headaches - so make an appointment, lady! Especially when accompanied by dizziness!! So chuck the pastry cutter back in the cupboard and get to the phone!

I like this one a lot! Just enough detail and such an interesting structure to the shot. Hope you feel better by now.

Love the shot and soft focus- sorry I didn't see your kitchen challenge until I was well into my own. Oh well. Going for "L"s in December if you're interested. And please get that dizziness checked out! It could be connected to a bunch of things but anything with the eyes and balance is important to me since it effects so much more! Nice shot!

Oopps- meant to add this to explain the L challenge:

So here's what I'll be doing:
1-6 Little or Large (either/or, or alternating- your choice)
7-13 Laundry (room, etc.) Anything to do with the laundry- inspired by your gadget week!
14-20 Lines
21-27 Letters
28-31 Lights (or Lamps if your area is not decorated for the holidays)

And for the days you're uninspired or can't do the weekly theme, bonus "L" shots: Sounds like it starts with an "L" but it doesn't (for example elephant) OR anything that starts with an "L" (lace, lavender, ladle and so on).

@summerfield Some place quiet sounds nice! We will be over in NY state visiting the grands. Betsy and Christopher will also be up from TX. I'm looking forward to it- although it will be anything but quiet!

thingamajig sounds great, better than pastry crimper :-) lovely that bit of colour in the softness and the clear focus on the edge.
