i'm so lacking in inspiration and motivation so my salad fork is what you get to see from me tonight.
at home, growing up, each of us in the family had a designated 'design' of silverware, so that when we set the table for meals, we all knew where to place which set of spoon and fork. while my younger siblings did not really care which pattern they had, my brother and i were quite particular that our set not be mixed with the others or be used by anyone. his had a rounded handle with two lines while mine had a feligree handle and design similar to this photo. during my last visit with my brother, i noted that he no longer cares if he's using the same spoon and fork, he'd just pluck anything from the cutlery rack. i realize that i am now the only one in the family who's still ass crazy about cutlery. and cup. and mug. and glass. :-)

laughing as i read your narrative as i, too, am áss crazy'about silverware - i only use dessert forks if i can get away with it. we all have our little quirks. your photo is wonderful, great macro.
