soft and rough by summerfield

soft and rough

a planter at the royal york hotel's entrance, right next to our building's backdoor. i like the strong colours juxtaposed with the dull grey of the concrete wall. while some of the colours are abutting on the half side of the concrete wall, i think it is still a half and half photo.

for week 18 of the 52-week challenge. this week it's photographer's choice.

also for the weekly theme of 'thirds'.

if i really want to i can tag it for the street challenge but that would probably be a stretch.
Very pretty composition!

Actually could be separated into three with the bare branches above the colourful posy of flowers!

Beautiful! I succumbed to Katy's pressure and laughed that my first post was similar... soft and sharp .... 😊

I'm convinced that this is either thirds or half and half. Which is quite an achievement! I'm intrigued, because whilst these colour combinations of flowers sit most happily together here - it was only yesterday that we were discussing with my father about the mismatch of two big bushes in vibrant pink and bright yellowy orange in his own garden.
