taken last night (sunday) but posting today as i already posted the baubles when i thought of doing this.
in any case, it's been a while since i last took water crown pics and i'm a tad rusty. i think this old canon 60D can retire now as i'm pretty sure i've reached a million shutter actuation with the 300 shots i took last night of the water splashes. 300 and only 10 were good enough. i had half-crowns and globules galore but i kinda like this one, a tiara, if you please.
i first tried to do water crown/splash using my point and shoot, before i had my first dslr. i had better success then than last night, i must admit. hahaha!
@wyomingsis - this is the exact moment when the water drop hits the surface. it is something we wouldn't see unless you fix your eyes on the spot where the water would drop, and even then, it happens so quick you'd question yourself whether you actually saw it or not. the water crown is formed when there is at least a millimetre of water on the surface.
Beautiful display of colors for your water tiara. I've never had good luck with water crowns. I always blamed it on not using a dskr, but in fact I think it is really the photographer I my case.
Gorgeous colors and great water crown. I wonder what it would look like cropped more closely to the crown. Perhpas it was lose the beauty from the colors.
Fit for a princess! I could not do this if my life depended on it. I truly stink at any of these staged shots- water crowns, oil and water, refraction, you name it I have failed when trying it! haha
