in the summer of 2016, i visited louise and ken @Weezilou at their summer home in lunenburg, nova scotia. one of the places they brought me to was the golf course situated across the bay that can be seen from their home. when looking at these photos, most of which i haven't even looked at properly, i was surprised to see their house in this photograph. i would tell you it's the wisteria blue house at the back of the half right of the photo but of course, this is in black and white so it wouldn't be easy to spot. see those two spires on the half right of the photo? there's a lower third spire to the left and right behind it is their warm welcoming home.
the houses in lunenburg are very colourful and sometimes some houses are known for their colours or design. L&K's house is known as the purple house. near the conservatory hall behind those trees, there's a very intricate pink house known around the place as the wedding cake house because it looks like a tiered wedding cake.
one day, i shall come back and visit, or maybe i would make up my mind and just settle permanently somewhere around there. it would be so nice! even nicer if we could be neighbours.
I think we all miss Lunenburg. Your’s and Pam’s photos have been so wonderful during the landscape challenge. This is a lovely capture of the town across the water, oh my.
Wasn't I supposed to pick you up and go visit Nova Scotia some time? Wouldn't that be fun. Although I'd probably have to stock up on 100 camera cards the place is so photogenic! My mother and father met in Nova Scotia and then honeymooned there. Jeff and I visited for one day back in my film days- but boy would I love to shoot it with what I know now! This was definitely a good one for black and white!
