roadside berries by summerfield

roadside berries

i walk almost every morning along the side of don mills road, a 6-lane roadway. i walk the equivalent of 5 kilometres going south and on weekends i walk back the same way. a long stretch of that roadway is covered with trees and shrubs, either part of the public golf course or the ravines that eventually lead to the don trails. the fencing along a long stretch of the roadway teems with apples, crab apples and this plant that always teems with blackberries. the birds don't touch them although they liked to attack the red ones. there is also a variety with white berries.
This is a really pretty composition! Are they edible to humans? 5 kilometres sounds like a very long walk every day!

The berries are so shiny and the leaves full of rain or dew drops.
