work has taken over my life. but one day last week, i almost retired on the spot. a new program in Word was implemented and it works quite differently with the regular Word program. the three young lawyers i now help out are very computer savvy so they mostly work on their documents on their own and only ask for help when something is really dire. well, that happened last week and with the new program that i have not even tried, i panicked and that's when i thought i had better retire. after staring at the document for about 15 minutes and wishing it to disappear, i thought i better give the document a try so at least nobody could say (even i myself) that i didn't try. but the old resourceful and stubborn worker in me surfaced just in time and i was able to work on the document which turned out to be quite easy and i was able to return the document to the young lawyer.
what a story - well done for persevering. I find often the most daunting looking things turn out to be straight forward (and vice versa). I am sure there would have been panic in the office if you had resigned.
