jam by summerfield

jam

this is blackcurrant jam or fruit spread. my favourite is the french brand "st. dalfour" because it has real fruit and virtually no sugar, as all you can taste is the fruit and its natural sweetness.

jam, jelly, preserves and marmalade, what is what? jam spread is made with whole or cut up pieces of fruit. jelly spread is made with strained fruit and there are no pieces of fruit in it, unlike jam. preserves are made with whole or chunks of fruit. marmalade are made of whole citrus fruits including the rinds. all have sugar in them, unless it's all natural.

now, chutney is like jam but in addition to sugar, it has vinegar and spices.

jam as in jam session is not edible, although it can be spread. šŸ˜œ
They look tasty. I love your narrative!

Looks scrumptious. Thanks for the vocabulary mini-lesson.

I didn't know the difference, assumed they were both made with lots of sugar. I make marmalade and sometimes strawberry jam.

This actually looks more like preserves than jam to me. Whatever you call it, it still looks delicious and I love the composition, Vikki.

Mostly, I make jam because it is easiest, although I have made marmalade, and sometimes I make jelly when Iā€™m feeling really industrious
