"I'll buy you a diamond ring, my friend, if it makes you feel alright
I'd get you anything, my friend, if it makes you feel alright
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love."
(McCartney/Lennon, from the album "A Hard Day's Night", 1964)

i like this song. again, it's catchy but there is a moral to it. this song has been covered by various artists over the years, but the best cover version i think is that of ms. ella fitzgerald.
just to be clear, the money's real (and already spent), but the ring is fake, cubic zirconia of course!
@jannkc - wisely said. when i was young, my very lovely life mentor, my first boss, always told me that 'when poverty knocks on the door, love flies out of the window'. it is true, witnessed a lot of that. but i still believe that money can't buy you (or me) love. thanks, jann.
@roth - sue, 45's?!? i thought you're with the "cassette tape" generation! brace yourself, there's possibly 27 more that will run through your head :-) thanks, sue.
@danig - that's william mckenzie king, prime minister of canada a long long time ago when the world was young and i wasn't born yet! :-) thank you, DG.
