"Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day.
The sun is up, the sky is blue,
It's beautiful and so are you."
(Lennon, McCartney, from the album The Beatles (a.k.a. White Album), 1968)
this song was written by john lennon for prudence farrow while the beatles were in india to study with the maharishi mahesh yogi. apparently, prudence, mia farrow's sister, took her meditation so seriously she practically locked herself up in her cottage and wouldn't come out, and john lennon was given the task of making sure she did.

we had some crazy weather in toronto since yesterday. one minute you see the sun, next it's dark as hell. well, not really hell, but dark. and the storms are so localized - it's raining like hell downtown (well, not really hell but heavy) and right that very minute, the sun's shining where i was. and just when you want the blue sky for a photograph that's when it just won't show up. right now it's steady rain which i'm liking as it's making my apartment so cool and comfortable.
Love the cloud structure of this sky! I have just begun this project and like the discipline of it. Gets me out of the house with my P&S too!! I get frustrated with the limitations of my camera but I shall keep going!!
Hope that you find your "writing muse" again . .I was an English major. Know how that is!! Good Luck!
@karenann - thank you, karenann. welcome to 365. i think i'm well disciplined now and have progressed to 'addiction'. i take photographs most everyday and have a habit of going back to the places, if they're reasonably accessible, if i need my files updated. the writing muse has been found and held hostage at the moment :-) although sometimes get ignored. thanks again, and i'll check your album out shortly.
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. i'm learning how to take photos while in a moving vehicle (fortunately for everybody, i'm not driving! and won't even try that) and the sky is the most tolerant subject for such.
dear prudence is typical of john lennon's songwriting and poetry - dramatic and sparse lyrics but to the point; unlike paul mccartney's catchy and rhythmic tunes.
@eddyj - hahaha! wouldn't you know, there were bats flying around the trees near my building. didn't know bats live in the city. but maybe you're right, batman's somewhere here! thanks, eddy.
@deens - thanks, nadine. i have an old "the beatles chord book" that i had since i was a teenager in which the history of each album and songs are explained. didn't read that part until yesterday when i was ready to post. :-)
