"eight days a week" by the beatles by summerfield

"eight days a week" by the beatles

"Eight days a week I love you.
Eight days a week is not enough to show I care."
(Lennon/McCartney, from the album Beatles for Sale, 1964)

it was the story at the time that the title came from one of ringo starr's 'malapropisms', the same way they got the title "a hard day's night'. paul mccartney had a different version in later years regarding how they came about the title of this song.

so, i made up a calendar with eight days of the week. that's as creative as i could get today. i think you would agree with me that if there would be an eighth day for the week it should be called 'funday' and should be in between saturday and sunday.

i was hoping to catch the sunrise at the beaches but no such luck (and i actually woke up at 4 a.m. hah!) as the sky was heavily shrouded with grey clouds. so photographed the lake again with the ducks, geese, what have you and of course, some late summer flowers.

@cscecil - CS, if you look at the pic of the first flower in the calendar, under thursday, i found a moon flower! yay! we passed by a seniors' home and they have this lovely garden. my partner saw the moon flower and he was quite impressed that i know its name. i got a 'you're not just a pretty face' comment for that!
Great idea to match the song. You are very creative.

@summerfield oh really! witch of the west? my man told me I'd be a great witch; I take that as a huge compliment! I'd definitely be stirring some cauldron to make some evil potion, used only for good of course....

@bkbinthecity - thank you.

nice illustration; an alternative theory about the song is that Paul wrote the lyrics based on something that a chauffeur who once drove him to Lennon's house in Weybridge said...Paul is quoted as saying "..the chauffeur drove me out that day and I said, 'How've you been?' – 'Oh working hard,' he said, 'working eight days a week.' I loved the way that expressed working beyond your limits"
